What does Dr. Tori get asked most?
How do I manage my stress day-to-day?
Stress looks different for everyone. You may find that simple changes to your diet, exercise, or sleep schedule are enough. For others, it may include self-care activities to help stay balanced and recharge. Most important is knowing when to reach out to talk to someone. If your usual supports aren’t working, beginning, or resuming, therapy might be the best step.
I am having difficulty in my relationship. Should I come for individual therapy or should my partner and I come in for couples therapy?
It depends. There is no single right answer to this question. The best advice would be to call and consult with me. I can ask some questions, find out what your goals are and if your partner is also willing to join therapy so you can make the choice that is right for you.
Why don’t you see people in an office?
I spent much of my career as a home-based therapist or supervising staff at non-profits who did therapy in homes or the community. I believe strongly that the home environment can greatly inform and impact therapy. In March 2018, I converted my practice to telehealth, allowing me to see people in the comfort of their homes while no longer driving all over the state. This has continued to serve me well, as there was no disruption to my practice in early 2020 when COVID began!
